We only have one window in our home, so we like to keep it mostly uncovered. In the past we used very transparent fabric, and we also tried decorative wooden screens. Privacy is not much of an issue, but we like the idea of dressing up our 11 foot window. This simple screen might be our next DIY project, especially considering that the length and width can be custom. More photos after the jump…

We initially found Elizabeth Duffy’s handiwork on a Flickr user’s photostream. With no information under the image but the Space Gallery that had hosted the installation, we immediately emailed them and asked for details. We learned that the artist in question is Elizabeth Duffy–an artist that showcases the items we dispose of in our everyday lives…

Jaclyn sent in a good question: Are Chicago landlords required to paint the walls each time a new tenant moves in? I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the ordinance but have heard they are legally required to paint….
